Museum roadshow

Saturday, july 22nd

10 am

$5.00 for every 3 items or less

We will once again be holding our Museum Roadshow on Saturday, July 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  You can bring in your treasures that you would like information on, i.e. what it is, how much it’s worth, etc.  Doesn’t that sound like fun!

Craig Helm is volunteering his time to help us out with this.  Craig is a certified appraiser, but he simply can’t know everything about everything.  He told me he knows the most about: Native American and pre-Columbian artifacts, antique pictures, western memorabilia, and Asian artifacts.  (Please note that no guns are allowed on the Cuyamaca College campus.) He’s not prepared to answer your questions about gems and minerals, or stamps.

There will be a $5.00 fee for each multiple of three or less items that you bring in. It would be very frustrating if the person who had #1 brought in 100 items while everyone else sat and waited for their turn. This hasn’t happened before. We actually go through the numbers quite quickly. It’s just a precaution to discourage this. This fee is practically nothing compared to taking an item for a formal appraisal. The money taken in will totally benefit the Museum’s programs for children
